Futuristic Logo Design Tutorial in Photoshop

This tutorial is based on some basic filters, simple layer styles and vector tools of Photoshop. Step 1:

Let’s start out by creating a new file. I used a 800×600 pixels canvas set at 72dpi, and I filled my background with white color shade. Now make a new layer set and name it ‘Futuristic’. In a new layer, draw a dark gray ellipse with #505050 color shade and 38 x 47 px dimensions.

Step 2:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, and Gradient Overlay blending options to the dark gray ellipse layer.

Step 3:

In a new layer, draw a dark gray circle with #505050 color shade and 79 x 79 px dimensions.

Step 4:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, and Inner Glow blending options to the dark gray circle layer.

Step 5:

Create a new layer, draw a light blue ellipse with #0084C1 color shade and 52 x 66 px dimensions as shown below.

Step 6:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Shadow, Inner Glow, Satin, Gradient Overlay, and Stroke blending options to the light blue ellipse layer.

Step 7:

In a new layer, draw a black circle with 36 x 36 px dimensions on the center of the light blue ellipse design.

Step 8:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Inner Glow, and Stroke blending options to the black circle layer. Then set the layer’s blending mode to Soft Light.

Step 9:

Highlight the ‘Futuristic’ Layer Set and merge through Layer > Merge Layer Set, this will turn the layer set into a regular layer. Duplicate the design three times then position and rotate them as shown below. Don’t forget to merge all the layers so the futuristic design is in one layer.

Step 10:

Under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add a Gradient Overlay blending option to the futuristic design layer.

Duplicate the futuristic design layer and scale down the design through Edit > Transform > Scale. Then under Layer Style(Layer > Layer Style) add an Outer Glow, and Gradient Overlay blending options.
